Love in a Bottle

Hello my friends, have you ever wished that you could bottle up your love and send it to those who are sad and lonely or just down on their luck?

Well, we all know that love isn't something that can be bottled, but I've come to realize that it's something we can share.

Much like how you uncork a bottle, we can open up our hearts and let our love overflow.
What good is love if we can't pass it on to others?

I had filled this crate with some of my aqua bottles and placed it on top of the cabinet in our entry for Winter.

When I pulled out the Valentine décor I sat it on my kitchen island.  Before I knew it I started embellishing and filling the bottles with bits and baubles of love.

An old Ball jar with a glass seal got a glitzy clock and red mercury glass heart.

This slender beauty needed nothing more than a sweet pink heart tied on with a piece of lace.

I filled some of them with vintage pieces of silver.  I don't have a lot, but love it!

This red votive was picked up a couple of years ago on clearance at Ross.  It came with the little silver charm and I tucked a metal heart inside.

Little bottles of love sit on my kitchen island.  And although I can't bottle my love up and send it, they are a sweet reminder for me to share my love with others!

I had a little fun playing with photos of this gorgeous ruby red stopper.

Sending you some love today!

hugs,
Jann

My Pillow Passion. . .

Well my friends, I have a confession to make. . .I have a terrible pillow passion!

Don’t know what it is, but I just go all ‘Lady Ga Ga’ over them.

I love seasonal ones and have a closet and blanket chest full of them.

I don’t have a lot of pink in my home but I couldn’t pass this sweet thing up when it was marked down to $10.00.

Pink chenille.. .makes me swoon!

It seems that I have a knack for finding things marked, ‘clearance’.  lol!
Like this large red houndstooth beauty.  $20, regularly $80.  It simply had a seam that needed to be resewn.

This shabby chic number was made by my hairdresser and priced very reasonably.
Gorgeous buttons, ruffles, and floral, what’s not to love?

Another clearance find.  Love the reddish bird!

Now lets step into the bedroom.
Again I have lots of pillows that I switch out often for the season.
After removing my Winter spread the other day I went back to my everyday quilt.
Then it became time to decide which pillows I would use.

DSC00114_edited-1

I started with my two red Euros, a small polka dot pillow in the center and this beautiful ruched pillow.  I had seen it at a shop and loved it but was not about to dish out $100 for it.  Lucky for me I was there the day they only had one left and marked it down to $30.
I started adding more pillows. By the time I was through you could barely see it.
I added the ‘Good Morning and Good Night’ beauties that were gifted to me by Carol from Art and Sand.  Such a sweet blog friend!

Then I tossed a few more red and whites in.  Perfect for Valentines Day!

Another pretty white with lace Target markdown bolster sits on the bench at the foot of the bed.

I love redwork so when this Splish Splash pillow showed up on PB clearance, I had to have it.
The small pillow adds a touch of turquoise.  A Home Goods find.

I have a lot of pillows on both upstairs and downstairs sofas as well as the sectional in the theater room, (a post for another day). Hubby is always removing them, but never complains!

Oh yeah, now and then he’ll hint that he thinks I have enough pillows.

But then he didn’t say a word when he was with me when I found the red houndstooth beauty just a couple weeks ago.

Gotta love a guy like that!

I’ll end with a glimpse of my coat closet.

Most of these are seasonal and I’ve made quite a few of them.

Anybody else have a passion for pillows?  I know you’re out there. . .fess up! He-he!  Please don’t let me be the only one!

hugs,

SEW Much Love!

Have you taken the time lately to stop and think about how loved you are?

And did you know that if you want to be and feel loved that you have to give and show love?

It truly is a continuous circle of giving and receiving.

I think that there is no truer saying than that of “Love makes the world go round!”.

I really do feel loved and it’s that thought that I had in mind when I decorated my kitchen table.

Vintage Sewing Machine Vignettte

When family and friends come to visit I feel their love. . .there’s nothing quite like a big hug and kiss from a grand!

Excites me almost as much as a vintage treasure.  JK!

I’ve had this vintage sewing machine for years.  It was in a sewing cabinet and I really had nowhere to display it so after storing it for 5 years I finally took it out of the case and I love using it in vignettes!

love the soft pink of this crochet sheen.

The vintage linen towel was found at an estate sale. Look closely at that needle.  Anyone know exactly what it was used for?

I pulled a couple of pincushions from my sewing room.  The sweet Battenberg one was a gift from my cousin, Betty and I bought the wool heart years ago at a fabric store.  It was love at first sight!  The pretty doily was another estate sale find.

I corralled some luscious colored wooden spools of thread into a glass vase and tucked in a pair of vintage scissors.

I gathered the hearts I made together and placed them in my black and white dough bowl.

DSC00102

I recently picked up this roll of buttons on wire and thought it made the perfect garland to string throughout my ‘SEW Much Love’ vignette.

The wooden doll is a lavender sachet and a small pair of scissors are attached to the end.  I ordered these years ago from Lillian Vernon.

The cupid plate that I made years ago by Modge Podging fabric onto the back of a clear glass plate seemed to be perfect for this vignette.

And yes, let’s add flowers. . .a few dried roses.

I filled the chippy red jar that I found earlier this week at a thrift shop with some of my vintage buttons.

My white linen tablecloth remains to be one of my favorites.  I love how it hangs.

I had Sew much fun putting this together and I hope you enjoyed it!

Wishing you “SEW much Love”!
