Silver and Gold Christmas

Hello my friends, welcome to the kick off of our
'Creating Christmas' party.

Today our party starts (4 p.m. MST) over at Trina's where we will be sharing our 'Silver and Gold'.  Please hop over and share a link,
or two, or three.  :)

This Christmas season I have used a mixture of silver and gold in my living room.  If you know me, then you know that I am not a huge gold lover.  Yup, I prefer silver.  But when it comes to Christmas, everyone knows, (according to Burl Ives); that you just have to have some silver and gold!  lol!

I've placed vintage ornaments in my birdcage.  Notice the one with both silver and gold?  The added band of aqua makes
it extra delicious!

I love this silver aluminum tree gifted to me by one of my sisters a few years ago.  I placed it in an old ice cream freezer I painted white with homemade chalk paint.

It's topped with a gold crown made from old screen by
 the fabulous Gigi from

My sweet deer from Target have golden antlers and bells.

Another ornament with both gold and silver came from our first Christmas tree in '1972'.

My living room décor is focused on 'Peace on Earth'.

I have used both silver and gold on the mantel.

Again, the banner has touches of silver amongst the gold.

I made this 'peace on earth' banner with the intentions of hanging it from the mantel.  It turned out to be too large so I draped it across the living room window.  I had to close the blind to get a photo.

Shiny Brites in a wicker baby scale sit on top of the coffee table.  Notice another combination of both
 silver and gold?

My small collection of tree toppers.

Even the cute hanging ornament gifted to me by Stephanie from
The Enchanting Rose  in our mug rug exchange looks pretty with it's silver bling hanging on a golden brass plate.

Hope your day is filled with a ray of golden sunshine and that every cloud has a silver lining!  :)
hugs,
Jann

Vintage ornaments are so much fun to decorate with! The aluminum tree brought back memories of my dad's parents, aluminum tree, blue balls and one of those red, green, blue, and yellow wheel lights. Fun start to your holiday decor week! Blessings, Cindy

Peace on Earth is a wonderful theme for Christmas. Love all your Silver and Gold ornaments. We grew up with an aluminum tree...memories! We had the color wheel that turned behind it and changed the colors. I believe I still have the color wheel packed away. I will have to find it some year and see if it still works.

Love the box advent calendar. You have some very old glass ornaments! My mom used to have a lot of those but over the years many "vanished." She gave me about 10 a few years ago. They are so fragile!

Well look at you? Of course you could find a place for some silver and gold. I do love the little bits shining through with the pink and blues. And your peace on earth banner turned out beautifully.
